What if dealing with the “mess” in our lives could be a whole lot simpler?
We as women take on way too much and hold ourselves to supremely high expectations. We don’t feel that we can talk about the mess in our lives, much less do anything about it—especially when we are too busy juggling daily demands, trying to keep our heads above water, and convincing ourselves that we’re “fine.”
This is why simple practices of anchoring are so important. People who’ve grown up in indigenous and shamanic cultures often have power objects into which they pour their dreams and visions for their lives. It’s important to remember who we are in the middle of the mess, so that’s why, today, I want you to create your own personal power object.
Activity
Today, find an object that comes directly from the Earth or was shaped from its materials: maybe a rock, metal object, seashell, leaf, handmade clay sculpture, or anything else you can easily hold in your hand. Make sure it’s something that grounds you and connects you to your boldest visions and deepest peace. If you can’t find something that fits the criteria, find an object that inspires you with joy and positive associations, such as a favorite necklace. Create a simple practice of connecting with your anchoring power object every morning, even if just for a few minutes, during these next 30 days. Hold it in your hand and think about and state your intentions for the day (preferably out loud). Remember to keep the object somewhere where only you can access it.
